New Delhi, July 20 (IANS) The Delhi High Court on Friday ruled that the Congress-affiliated National Students Union of India (NSUI) candidate Rocky Tuseed is ineligible to run for the post of president of Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU).
Justice V. Kameswar Rao dismissed the plea of Tuseed challenging the Delhi University's Chief Election Officer (CEO)'s September 6, 2017 order, which had rejected his nomination due to a disciplinary case against him.
"...this Court is of the view that the challenge to the communication dated September 6, 2017 rejecting the representation of the petitioner (Tuseed) and treating the petitioner as ineligible for the post of president, Delhi University Students Union, cannot be faulted. The writ petition is dismissed," the court said.
On September 6, 2017, rejecting the nomination of NSUI candidate Tuseed, the Delhi University CEO had cited an incident of disciplinary action against him at Shivaji College, which had proscribed him from entering the college in 2014.
