New Delhi, July 16 (IANS) In the wake of the arrest of a lawyer on rape charges at the Saket courts premises here, Delhi High Court Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal on Monday held a meeting with district judges and directed them to ensure the safety of women on court premises.
"Justice Mittal asked the District and Sessions Judges at all six district courts in Delhi to sensitise court officials so that such incidents don't recur," informed sources told IANS.
Apart from judges, the High Court Registrar General and Registrar (Vigilance) were present at the administrative committee meeting.
Saket Courts District Judges Asha Menon and Girish Kathpalia briefed Justice Mittal on the situation after the rape case. The woman lawyer's statement had been recorded and the accused arrested.
