Bhubaneswar, July 12 (IANS) The Odisha government has constituted a 'Heritage Cabinet' to preserve the Odia language and the state's culture, an official said on Thursday.
As per the notification issued by the Parliamentary Affairs Department, the cabinet comprises eight members and will be headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The cabinet will maintain coordination among the institutions and departments working to preserve and spread Odia language, culture and literature, said the notification.
It will also prepare policies and prepare and approve short-term and long-term plans.
The Odisha government had decided to set up the 'Heritage Cabinet' at a special meeting held in Puri on December 26, 2017.
