Shimla, July 9 (IANS) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet on Monday decided to fill 200 posts of MBBS doctors on a regular basis through the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission.
It also decided to recruit 714 staff nurses in the Health and Family Welfare Department on contract through the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission.
Both the decisions will go a long way to cope with the shortage of doctors and staff nurses in the state, an official statement said.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over the Cabinet meeting.
The Cabinet gave its nod to start tele-medicine services in remote Pangi areas in Chamba district through Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd.
The Cabinet also decided to cut down the rate of sugar being provided to above poverty ration line (APL) card holders from Rs 29 to Rs 24 per kg and for beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act of 2013 from Rs 18 to Rs 13 per kg.
The Cabinet decided to implement support price under the Market Intervention Scheme for procurement of mango and apple fruits by increasing the support price of these fruits by 50 paise per kg from the existing rates.
