Melbourne, July 4 (IANS) A day after Aaron Finch broke his own individual record for the highest T20 International score, the Australia T20I skipper's contract with Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Melbourne Renegades was extended for two more years.
Finch, 31, on Monday notched up a mammoth 172 against Zimbabwe in the ongoing tri-series on Monday to shatter his own record.
The right-hander has always played for Renegades -- his hometown team -- since the start of his BBL career.
Infact, it was with the Renegades where the seeds of 'opening the batting' were sown.
Finch hopes to carry this form in the forthcoming seventh season of the tournament where the Renegades look to win their first title.
In the six seasons so far, Renegades have made the semi-finals twice (in 2012-13 and 2017-18) without ever progressing to the tournament's summit clash.
The Renegades have bolstered their playing stocks ahead of this December with the signing of all-rounder Dan Christian for the next three seasons. Leg-spinner Cameron Boyce will also play for the team for the next two years.
