Mumbai, July 3 (IANS) Actor Jisshu Sengupta says it is a huge honour to be able to represent such a "sincere visionary" as L.V. Prasad in a film based on the legendary Telugu actor-filmmaker-politician NTR.
This will be the Bengali actor's debut in the South film industry. The film, which will be directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, also features Vidya Balan and Rana Daggubati.
The makers are planning to release the film on January 9, 2019 and it is being jointly produced by Balayya, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri.
"It's a huge honour to be able to represent such a sincere visionary as L.V. Prasad. As a producer, his films had the signature of telling catastrophic romances with theatrical characters backed by some memorable music," Jisshu said in a statement.
"As an actor and director, he chose subjects that were emotional, dramatic and driven by performances. I have begun my theoretical preparations for the film after my surgery as Krish has given me a lot of content to browse through.
"This will be my first ever stint in the South industry and I'm quite excited and nervous at the same time."
The South film industry has always been a priority for him.
"But I never got the right opportunity till Krish approached me for this project. I have begun some lessons in Telugu but will reserve one week of intense language training when I arrive in Hyderabad," said the actor.
The "Barfi!" actor is also shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar's "Devidas Thakur".
