New Delhi, June 22 (IANS) Lt. Governor Anil Baijal on Friday emphasised on the need for speedy disposal of cases related to offences against women and children in Delhi.
Baijal, while reviewing the progress in the implementation of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018, stressed that a coordinated approach among investigation, prosecution and trial machineries is needed to enforce the said ordinance in its letter and spirit.
He further advised to explore the possibility of engaging Public Prosecutors on contractual basis till regular recruitment is conducted by the UPSC.
The Lt. Governor directed all the agencies to take up necessary steps for effective implementation of the ordinance in a time-bound manner.
The meeting was also attended by Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain.
