Kolkata, June 15 (IANS) Chhattisgarh Copper Ltd, a joint venture between Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) and Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (CMDC), plans to commence exploration activities in the state from August, a statement said on Friday.
"The first board meeting of the joint venture (JV) company was held on Friday at Raipur. The JV company plans to commence exploration activities from August 2018 onwards," it said.
HCL holds 74 per cent share of the joint venture company while CMDC has the rest. The company was incorporated in May in a bid to undertake exploration and mining of copper ore in the state.
The board meeting was chaired by state-run copper miner's chief Santosh Sharma, who was also Chairman and Managing Director of the joint venture company.
Other officials of the both the companies including CMDC's Managing Director Alarmel Mangai Deekaram attended the board meet.
