According to a senior Railway Ministry official, General Managers and officials of the Northern Railways, North Central Railway, East Central Railway and North Eastern Railways will attend the meeting.
Coming against the backdrop of complaints from the passengers over the train delays as trains in these four zones have been running late for over six-seven hours for the last few months, the meeting will mainly focus on the issues of punctuality, quality of foods served on board and cleaniness of railway premises and trains, the official said.
According to ministry officials, the railways in these four zones are running late due to the extensive drive of track maintenance taken up in the recent times.
"During the meeting, the minister will review the progress of the maintenance of tracks and railway assets in the zones concerned," an official said.
"He shall also discuss the cleaniness and the quality of food served on board the train and at the railway stations." he said.
Goyal is reviewing the works of the maintenance, cleanliness and quality of foods of every zone. On Thursday, he held review meeting with officials of the North Western Railways, West Central Railways, Southern Railways and the South Central Railways.
