German goalkeepers take part in training ahead of World Cup

Eppan (Italy), June 1 (IANS) German goalkeepers Manuel Neuer, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Kevin Trapp on Friday participated in their national football team's training session in Italy, two weeks ahead of going to the 2018 FIFA World Cup to defend their title.

Bayern Munich's Neuer, who has completed recovery from a second break in his foot's metatarsal bone, warmed up for practice at a training camp in Eppan in northern Italy, as documented by an epa-efe journalist, reports Efe.

"Things are going well for Manuel Neuer. I will talk to him tonight -- if all is well, he will start," the squad's head coach, Joachim Low said, according to the German team's Twitter account.

Low stated that defender Jerome Boateng will not be ready to play, adding "Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller will stay behind too."

Germany is set to open Group F with a clash against Mexico on June 17, at Luzhniki stadium in Moscow.
