Three Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, May 29 (IANS) Three illegal Bangladeshi migrants were arrested in Ghaziabad, the police said on Tuesday.

The police arrested the Bangladeshi nationals on Monday night from a hutment near the Regional Transport Office in Kavi Nagar Industrial Area.

During interrogation, they told the police that they had been living there by hiding their real identity. During their stay in India, they had also managed various identity proofs.

Later, the local intelligence unit (LIU) also joined their interrogation.

They identified themselves as Mohammad Alam Sheikh, son of Abdul Rauf; Nazrul alias Islam alias Hazare, son of Usuf Ali; and Imam Hussain, son of Abdul Hussain.

The police recovered a PAN card, three Aadhaar cards, two Voter ID cards, a passport photocopy, a birth certificate of Bangladesh and three mobile phones from their possession.

"We will keep conducting such drives to flush out illegal migrants who are putting extra burden on our resources," said Pradeep Kumar Tripathi, the Kavi Nagar Police Station incharge.
