New Delhi, May 29 (IANS) Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal on Tuesday asked the Delhi Transport Department to take up the matter of using CNG buses with the neighbouring states.
His suggestion came as he chaired a meeting at the Raj Niwas here convened by the Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) to discuss and review the issues of traffic management and environmental pollution in and around ISBT Anand Vihar where three terminals - bus, metro and railways - converge.
During the meeting, also attended by Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, Environment Minister Imran Hussain and representatives from Railway and Metro, he directed the Transport Commissioner to take up the matter regarding the use of CNG buses with the neighbouring states.
Baijal also fixed the deadline of September 30 to complete the various ongoing works to control air pollution in the area.
He also directed the departments to take stringent actions against the violators.
