Yangon, May 4 (IANS) At least 12 people died and eight others were injured due to a landslide in Myanmar's Hpakant mining region on Friday, the country's information ministry said.
The landslide occurred due to a collapse of a 60.9-meter high spoil tip near a mining worksite in Hway Khar village in the Kachin region, Xinhua news agency reported.
Rescue operations and investigation into the accident were on.
