Kathmandu, April 29 (IANS) An explosion took place on Sunday at the office of a hydroelectricity project in Nepal developed by the Indian government.
The office of the Arun III project was targeted by unidentified assailants earlier on Sunday, Shiva Raj Joshi, Chief District Officer of the Sankhuwasabha said. The blast damaged a wall of the building.
He said the police have already launched a probe into the incident.
The 900 mw run-of-the-river project is slated to come into operation by 2020.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate it during his visit to Nepal on May 11.
This was second blast within a month in Indian properties in Nepal.
On April 17, a pressure cooker bomb went off near the Indian Embassy field office in Biratnagar damaging the walls of the premises.
