Copa Libertadores: Cruzeiro crushes Universidad de Chile

Sao Paulo (Brazil), April 27 (IANS) Brazilian football club Cruzeiro put up a fierce fight for the Copa Libertadores round of 16 as they drubbed Universidad de Chile 7-0, which saw two of their players expelled.

Thiago Neves got the first score for Cruzeiro in the ninth minute on Thursday with a beautiful free-kick goal by his left foot, and eight minutes later Rafinha hit the second goal with a header, reports EFE news agency.

Striker Sassa followed to make the third goal in the 43rd minute from a penalty caused by Arrascaeta, who also went to score the fourth point in the 53rd minute.

Sassa and Neves again returned to attack the Chilean team in the 61st and 74th minutes, catapulting the Brazilian team ahead of their rival 6-0.

Sobis sealed the fate of the Chilean team in the 80th minute when he hit the seventh goal, making this match the biggest win for Cruzeiro in Copa Libertadores.
