New Delhi, April 19 (IANS) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here on Thursday and discussed issues related to development as well as support for improvement of police infrastructure in the state, an official statement said.
"The Chief Minister apprised the Union Home Minister about the situation in the state and the issues on which it requires support of the Centre such as improvement of police infrastructure," a Home Ministry statement said.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and senior officers from the ministry and the state government were also present during the meeting.
Rio described the meeting as "positive" and thanked the Home Minister for expressing concerns for development of the state.
"Had a positive meeting with the Home Minister along with my colleague Kazheto Kinimi and discussed matters related to development of Nagaland. Thankful to him for his concern for development of our region," Rio said in a tweet.
