Ranchi, April 17 (IANS) The Jharkhand government on Tuesday recommended an investigation by the CBI into the death of a woman doctor from the state in Kerala.
"Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has given his approval to recommend CBI probe into the death of Dr. Mamta Rai," said a government press release.
Mamta, a resident of Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand, who had gone to Kochi, was found dead in a hotel.
The family members demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the doctor's death, as they suspect that a doctor-friend of the deceased was behind her death.
She was doing her post-graduation from AIIMS in dermatology and had gone to Kochi to take part in an academic conference. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the hotel room in January this year.
