Mumbai, April 17 (IANS) Stock exchange major BSE on Tuesday said five issuers have raised Rs 6,900 crore on its BSE Bond platform after the roll-out of new norms by market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) effective from April 1.
"Till date five issuers have done seven issues of bonds and have successfully raised Rs 6,900 crore on BSE Bond platform after the rollout of new Sebi Circular... issued by Sebi on January 5, 2018 effective from April 1, 2018," BSE said in a statement.
According to the BSE, issuers like Reliance Jio Infocomm and Dewan Housing Finance Corporation have raised funds on the bond platform as per the revised guidelines.
The BSE had on July 1, 2016, launched the platform for Electronic Book Mechanism "BSE Bond" for issuance of debt securities on private placement basis.
In the financial year 2017-18, 84 issuers have done 532 issues of bonds and have successfully raised Rs 208,906 crore using BSE debt platforms, the statement added.
