Chennai, April 16 (IANS) A meeting of opposition party leaders in Tamil Nadu, led by DMK, held here on Monday decided to seek an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain the problems faced by the farmers and urge him to set up Cauvery Management Board (CMB).
The meeting also passed a resolution to hold human chain protest on April 23 in all district headquarters to pressurise the Central government to set up the CMB and Cauvery Water Regulatory Authority (CWRC).
Copies of the resolution passed the meeting was shared with the media.
Leaders of the opposition parties, including DMK allies and like-minded parties, met at DMK's headquarters here and decided to seek an appointment with Modi as the AIADMK state government was not able to get an appointment with the Prime Minister as per the decision taken at the all-party meeting chaired by Chief Minister K.Palaniswami here.
