Will remove references to Tropicana from ad: ITC to HC

New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) FMCG major ITC Ltd on Monday told the Delhi High Court that it will change its controversial advertisement where it challenged PepsiCo's juice brand Tropicana, asking the company to join a campaign to abandon concentrates.

ITC told Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw that it is going to remove all the reference disparaging PepsiCo's Tropicana or Dabur India Ltd's Real juice from its advertisements in print, television, hoardings and social media.

The submission came on a Pepsico India plea against ITC, the manufacturer of juice B Natural.

The court listed the matter for further hearing on May 9.

Last week, B Natural came out with a full-page advertisements in national dailies, stating: "We're inviting Tropicana and Real to join us in abandoning concentrates."

The company invited the rival firms to join its campaign from April 9.

Last Friday, the court directed ITC to change and produce a revised advertisement.
