Imphal, April 9 (IANS) Two migrant workers were injured when a bomb was hurled at a workers' shed in Manipur, police said on Monday.
The bomb was hurled in Thoubal Khunnou locality in Thoubal district on Sunday night. Hospital sources said both men were out of danger.
Police officer Rishikesh Sharma said: "A bomb was exploded at 8 p.m at the shed where the workers were sleeping. Two workers, R. Haque from Uttar Pradesh and Praveen Kharegi from Assam, were hurt in the blast."
The culprits could not be caught. Police said it was yet to be ascertained whether the blast had anything to do with extortion bids from insurgents.
There have been agitations in Manipur demanding a check on the influx of undocumented migrant workers.
Meanwhile, security forces recovered on Sunday evening a cache of weapons stashed at a secluded place in Ishok Makha Leikai area of Bishnupur district, police sources told IANS.
The seizures included two M-16 rifles, four AK 56 rifles, one A-4 rifle and one grenade launcher UBL rifle. No arrests have been made.
