Manchester United freeze ticket prices again

London, April 3 (IANS) Manchester United on Tuesday said that both season and match ticket prices will be frozen for the seventh season in a row ahead of the upcoming 2018-19 campaign.

The price freeze is the eighth in nine years and has allowed fans to enjoy a 17 percent price reduction, the English Premier League club said in a statement on its website, reports Efe.

United have also announced the introduction of a new 15 pound sterling ($21) ticket for fans aged 18-25 in addition to other measures which the club hope will help bring younger fans to Old Trafford.

"The club enjoys unparalleled support and we recognise the sacrifice many fans make to watch the team home and away. Continuing the freeze in match and season tickets for next season is driven by our belief in supporting fans attending our games", Manchester United's Group Managing Director Richard Arnold said.

"The introduction of reduced ticket prices for young adults in the Stretford End lower tier stems from suggestions generated by fan groups through our Fans' Forum, aimed at building on the tradition of vibrant support", Arnold added.

The Old Trafford club also announced on Tuesday that the first team would return to the US for the second straight yet for its pre-season tour.
