Egyptians vote on final day of presidential elections

Cairo, March 28 (IANS) Egyptians continued to head to the voting booths on Wednesday on what was the third and final day of the presidential elections in which incumbent President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi is widely expected to ease to victory.

The country's nearly 60 million eligible voters have the chance to choose between Al-Sisi and Chairman of the liberal Ghad Party Moussa Mostafa Moussa, Efe news reported.

Emad al-Zarif, one of the voters lining up at one of the polling stations in Cairo's Zamalek district, said the voting process was "very easy," adding that his entire family went to cast their ballots.

The Egyptian National Electoral Authority confirmed that no incidents were recorded during the three-day elections so far. The final results are expected to be officially announced on April 2.

The elections, which were held under tight security, were supervised by nine Arab and international organisations and 50 local civil organisations, as well as the Arab League and the African Union.
