Paris, March 27 (IANS) After picking up a left hamstring injury on international duty with France, winger Florian Thauvin is estimated to be ruled out for 10 to 15 days, his football club Marseille announced on Tuesday.
"Florian Thauvin has suffered a muscle injury to his left hamstring. The injury was picked up while on French national team duty during the international break," the club said in a statement, reports Xinhua news agency.
"His absence from competitive action is estimated to be around 10-15 days," it added.
Thauvin didn't fly to Saint Petersburg with the national team for Tuesday's international friendly against World Cup hosts Russia.
Thauvin spearheaded the Marseille side to current third position on the French Ligue 1 tables with his 16 goals and 10 assists.
He is expected to take up his position in Les Bleus' 23-man squad at the 2018 World Cup.
France will meet Australia, Peru and Denmark in Group C matches.
