New Delhi, March 16 (IANS) The proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 2.30 p.m. on Friday after the TDP, the Congress and some other opposition parties created a ruckus over the demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh.
As soon as the House met for the day, the Telugu Desam Party and Congress members trooped near the Chairman's podium and started shouting slogans holding placards in support of the demand for special status to the state.
Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu urged the agitating members to go back to their seats but the members remained on their feet.
Naidu then adjourned the House till 2.30 p.m. amid the din.
