Kolkata, March 15 (IANS) Departure of five domestic flights was delayed while three more flights were diverted from Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Thursday due to poor visibility conditions caused by non-seasonal fog, an airport official said.
The disruption in flight services happened between 5 to 8 a.m. on Thursday as visibility at the city airport was less than 50 metres during that time frame.
"Five domestic flights bound to Bengaluru, Port Blair, Jaipur, Chennai and Guwahati were delayed from the NSCBI airport on Thursday due to poor visibility conditions. Three more flights had to diverted," the airport official said in a release.
"The two domestic flight coming from Delhi and Guwahati and an international flight from Bangkok had to diverted to Guwahati," he added.
