Ranchi, March 14 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday directed state officials to complete distribution of LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to 15 lakh beneficiaries by April this year.
Raghubar Das was reviewing the progress made in LPG connection distribution among the beneficiaries of the state at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) auditorium.
In Jharkhand, about 15 lakh below poverty line (BPL) families still need to be provided the free LPG connection under the scheme. The beneficiaries belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward communities and others.
The Chief Minister gave a road map to officials to expedite the distribution of the gas connections.
"The 20-point programme Vice Chairperson at the state-level should review the district level 20-point programme every 15 days. Those who indulge in corrupt practices in poor people's scheme will face consequences," said the Chief Minister while reviewing the implementation of scheme.
