Sharma said it had been decided to introduce at least one model police station in each of the 30 Odisha districts.
The DGP also asked for opening of counselling centres to deal with matters related to women and children with utmost empathy.
He called upon senior police officers to continually strive to improve police-public relations and increase public confidence in police.
The DGP appreciated his officers for effective management of law and order, crime, pro-active handling of Maoists and successful conduct of festivals, sports meets and Bijepur Assembly bypoll.
