New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) Navjot Kaur, who clinched a gold medal at the recently concluded Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek, has jumped to the second spot in the world women's 65kg weight category rankings released by United World Wrestling.
Navjot represented Bengaluru Yodhas in the first season of the Pro Wrestling League adding to the list of eight more PWL players who have successfully got their places in the recently released UWW rankings, according to a media release on Sunday.
In the same category, Finland's Petra Oly, the 2016 European Champion, has secured the first place in the UWW rankings.
Vinesh Phogat who represented UP Dangal in the third season of PWL and is the Asian Championship 2018 silver medallist has also bagged second position in the ranking list under the 50kg weight category.
On the other hand, Bajrang Punia, under 65kg weight category, along with Sakshi Malik, under 62kg weight category, have secured fourth place in their respective weight categories.
Whereas Sangeeta Phogat has secured the fifth place in 57kg weight category. All three players who are also Asian Championship medallists have been part of PWL across three seasons.
Not just the Indian players, but PWL's international players are named in the UWW ranking list as the top players.
The United States' world champion Adeline Gray, who represented team Mumbai Maharathis in the first edition, secured the second position under 75kg weight category.
Mongolia's Mandakhran Ganzorig, who represented team UP Warriors in the first season of PWL, bagged first position in the rankings under 74kg weight category.
