BHEL bags 11,700cr order for thermal plant in Jharkhand

Mumbai, March 9 (IANS) Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) on Friday said that it has bagged a Rs 11,700 crore order for setting up a 3x800 MW "supercritical" thermal power plant in Patratu, Jharkhand.

"The order for setting up the 3x800 MW Patratu Super Thermal Power Station Expansion, Phase-I has been placed on BHEL by Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam," it said in a regulatory filing to the BSE.

Located in Ramgarh district, the project will be executed by BHEL on engineering, procurement and construction basis, it added.

"Key equipments for the project will be manufactured at BHEL's Trichy, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Ranipet, Bhopal, Bengaluru and Jhansi plants, while the company's Power Sector - Western Region division will be responsible for construction and installation activities at the site," the filing added.
