Four killed in accident

Lucknow, March 6 (IANS) Four persons, including a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader, were killed on Tuesday when a speeding car smashed into a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district and was hit by another car, police said.

The incident took place near Pipra Kachar in Deoria. Gas cutters were used to pull out the bodies from the smashed car.

The deceased were identified as Telhu Sonkar (50), Shrawan Patwa (38), Lallu Jaiswal (28) and Dharmveer Sonkar (33). Telhu Sonkar was a corporator of Badhalganj. Three others were injured in the accident.
