India, Israel to fight terrorism together

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS) India and Israel on Wednesday agreed to jointly fight against non-state actors and modernise the police forces.

At a two-day meeting of the Joint Steering Committee on Homeland and Public Security of India and Israel that concluded in New Delhi, "both sides agreed to work out the modalities to address these issues", the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in a statement.

The Prime Ministers of both the countries have followed the resolve to address the issues of terrorism, border management and security cooperation, the statement added.

Ministry of Home Affairs Additional Secretary T.V.S.N. Prasad headed the Indian delegation, while the Israeli delegation was led by Daniel Carmon, the Ambassador of Israel.

"The delegations had inter-ministerial representations from both sides," the MHA said.
