"The sky is expected to remain mainly clear during the day," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The humidity was 83 per cent at 8.30 a.m., while visibility stood at 1,200 metres.
At least 11 trains were cancelled, 20 delayed and six rescheduled due to fog in some parts of northern India, according to the railways.
The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 23 degrees Celsius.
Tuesday's maximum temperature settled at 23.5 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average.
