New Delhi, Feb 7 (IANS) Cochin and Paradip ports have registered highest growth in terms of handling cargo between April 2017 and January 2018, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday.
While Cochin Port has recorded 18.36 per cent growth during the period, Paradip port has registered 16.01 per cent growth for the same period.
"Kolkata, including Haldia, had 13.47 per cent growth, New Mangalore has registered 7.37 per cent growth and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust has 5.95 per cent growth during the period," said the official statement.
In total all the major ports have recorded a growth of 4.58 per cent and together handled 560.97 million tonnes of cargo between April 2017 to January 2018, as against 536.41 million tonnes handled during the corresponding period of previous year.
