Bus falls into ditch in UP amid fog, 6 injured

Lucknow, Jan 29 (IANS) At least six persons were injured on Monday when a bus fell into a roadside ditch in Uttar Pradesh after the driver lost track of the road due to dense fog.

The accident took place in the early hours of Monday in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, police said.

The injured have been identified as Sushma, 17, Sadhna, 30, Rama Devi, 42, Shivpal, 47, Ram, 32 and Chotu, 18. One critically injured passenger has been admitted to the Gonda district hospital, police said.

The bus belonged to the Basti bus depot of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and was going from Badhni to Kanpur.

There were more than 40 passengers in the bus, a police officer told IANS.
