New Delhi, Jan 27 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with tableaux artists, tribal guests, National Cadet Corps cadets and National Service Scheme volunteers in Delhi in connection with the Republic Day celebrations.
"The youth of India can bring transformative changes in the nation," he said.
Walking among the groups of people he met at the Teen Murti bungalow lawns, the Prime Minister spoke of the diversity of India, an official statement said.
He said the 69th Republic Day celebrations on January 26 were special as leaders of 10 Asean nations joined in.
He said there is a lot to learn from one another and emphasised that it is important to embrace changes happening around us.
The Prime Minister said that the nation is immensely proud of our armed forces.
"In that spirit, we should seek to know more about the brave individuals who are serving the nation," he said.
Modi also hailed police personnel who have sacrificed their lives for the nation, and said it is important to know about their sacrifices.
Talking about the importance of cleanliness, he said it is our duty to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a 'Swachh Bharat'.
