Deepak Chopra, 67, jumped before the train around 8 a.m. at Dwarka's Sector 12 station.
"Deepak Chopra, a resident of Dwarka, was taken to nearby Venkateshwar Hospital, where he was declared brought dead," Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Kumar said, adding that a suicide note was found in his possession.
Chopra was depressed over his ill health for the last couple of days. He stayed with his wife here, while his son and daughter are settled in the UK and Canada. He had returned from Canada on January 11, Kumar said.
Chopra earlier told his wife that he was going for a morning walk and would visit a doctor thereafter. However, he reached the Metro station and ended his life, the DCP said.
