London, Jan 19 (IANS) British businesswoman Amanda Staveley said she still wants to buy English football club Newcastle United F.C after the current owner Mike Ashley ended a $348 million takeover talks this week.
Earlier, in October, Ashley had set the club on sale after being in charge of it for 10 years.
He was also believed to be close on selling Newcastle United to Staveley firm, PCP Capital Partners group but the talks ended when they failed to match Ashley's evaluation of the club.
However, Staveley's spokesperson said the offer will remain in place and they were ready to bag it in case the current owner changed his mind.
"Deals like this are notoriously difficult to negotiate," the spokesman was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
