Forlan joins Hong Kong’s Kitchee SC

Montevideo, Jan 5 (IANS) Former Uruguay international striker Diego Forlan, who has not played since ending a stint with Indian club Mumbai city in late 2016, has joined Hong Kong side Kitchee SC ahead of their debut appearance in the AFC Champions League.

Kitchee posted an image on their official Instagram account on Thursday with the words "Welcome Forlan" alongside the club badge, reports Xinhua news agency.

Voted the best player of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the 38-year-old Forlan's career has included spells at Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Villarreal. Kitchee will play their first match in Asia's top club competition on February 13.
