New Delhi, Jan 3 (IANS) As the preparations for the third edition of Udaipur World Music Festival are in full swing, a prelude of this upcoming event has been organised at the India International Centre (IIC).
The musical event will give the music enthusiasts of the national capital a chance to witness a never seen before unique collaboration between Sufi and Carnatic music this month.

To be held on January 5 and 8, this two-day musical event will showcase renowned Carnatic music vocalist and violinist Sudha Raghuraman, the cherished Sufi folk singer from Rajasthan Mir Mukhtiyar Ali on the first day. On January 8, acclaimed Bharatnatyam dancer Anwesha Das will present her solo performance
"Every year, the festival brings together acclaimed artists from all over the globe to perform in India for the first time and with every prelude we push the boundaries of Indian classical music and dance forms bringing together artists from different genres to create fusion music that appeals to people from all walks of life", Festival Director Sanjeev Bhargava said in a statement.
The Udaipur World Music Festival has had two very successful editions in 2016 and 2017 that saw participation of over 150 musicians coming from more than 15 countries. Both the editions witnessed tremendous footfalls with more than 50,000 people visiting from various parts of the country.
