Jammu, Jan 2 (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday nominated senior functionaries of her party ahead of the Panchayat elections in the state.

In a statement issued here, PDP Vice President Muhammad Sartaj Madni said that she has nominated Mohammad Dilawar Mir, Ved Mahajan, Mehboob Iqbal and Peerzada Mansoor Hussain as General Secretaries of the party, while Rafi Ahmad Mir was named as the party's Chief Spokesman.

"Mehboob Iqbal, in addition to his responsibility, will hold the charge of District President Doda till further orders. Peerzada Mansoor Hussain shall be in charge central Kashmir," he added.
