The decision was taken in the presence of Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, who chaired the meeting.
"The governing body, during its meeting, discussed the rotation policy of heads of the departments and hence a decision was taken to constitute a committee to evaluate the enforcement of the scheme," said a senior faculty in knowledge of the matter.
Rotation policy was a recommendation of the MS Valiathan committee which was formed to improve the functioning of All India Institute of Medical Sciences during the United Progressive Alliance-1 tenure.
The governing meeting was called on the direction of the Health Ministry, within two months of the last governing meeting held.
Sources said that even if the rotation policy was discussed during the meeting, several faculty members of AIIMS were against the implementation of the scheme.
