London, Dec 20 (IANS) Arsenal key striker Olivier Giroud will miss the English Premiere League (EPL) clash with Liverpool on Friday following his suspected hamstring injury against West Ham.
The Frenchman was called off the field after pulling his muscle with just 13 minutes remaining in the EFL Cup quarter-final at the Emirates stadium. Arsenal went on to win the match 1-0 on Tuesday.
"It doesn't look very good for him (Giroud)," Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Wednesday.
"I think he's out of Friday night.
"Nowadays you do the scan 48 hours after the injury. That will happen on Thursday, then we'll have a precise kind of grade on what his hamstring is.
"When you listen to him, the pain is quite big, but the grade is not always linked with the intensity of the pain," Wenger added.
