Kolkata, Dec 18 (IANS) The West Bengal Minorities Youth Federation (WBMYF) on Monday strongly condemned the suicide bombing attack in a Christian church in Pakistan and held a protest demonstration here on the Minorities Rights Day.
Deploring the attack on the church that killed at least eight people and injured 44 others, the members of the organisation carried placards with messages against terrorism, fundamentalism and religious intolerance and demanded such terrorist forces should be obliterated to ensure the freedom and safety of the minorities throughout the world.
"We strongly condemn this attack. The terrorist organisation named IS that has taken responsibility of this attack, should be obliterated from the face of the world," said WBMYF General Secretary Mohammad Kamruzzaman.
Four terrorists attacked the Bethel Memorial Methodist Church in Pakistan's Quetta during the Sunday service.
One of the attackers detonated a suicide vest inside the church premises. Another was shot dead near the entrance by security forces after an intense gunfight. The other two terrorists escaped.
Referring to the brutal killing of a Bengali labourer named Afrazul in Gujarat due to his alleged involvement in 'love jihad', he said such attacks were increasing in this country everyday while the central government and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi were indirectly supporting the attackers.
