Kolkata, Dec 14 (IANS) Two bikers died while at least six others got severely injured in two separate road accidents in West Bengal's Malda district on Thursday, police said.
"A speeding motor cycle crashed into a battery operated rickshaw (Toto) in Malda's English Bazar area on Thursday morning. The biker sustained head injuries in the accident and was declared dead at the hospital," said an officer from English Bazar police station.
"The rickshaw flipped in the impact of the clash, severely injuring two of its passengers," he added.
In another road accident in the district's Habibpur, a biker died as his bike rammed into a motor van near Rishipur crossing while at least four passengers from the van sustained injuries.
"We are investigating if the biker was wearing a helmet during the accident. The injured people have been admitted to Malda medical college," a police official said.
