Hyderabad, Dec 11 (IANS) The 16th Champions Trophy -- a South Indian Inter Engineering Collegiate (T-20) Cricket tournament -- will be held in Telangana from January 3 to 9.
Teams from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana will take part in the tournament to be hosted by SR Engineering College.
SR Group of Institutions Chairman Varada Reddy on Monday announced that the tournament will be held at SR Engineering College, Ananthasagar, Warangal and SR International Institute of Technology here.
Only 50 teams will be selected on a first come first serve basis for the tournament to be held on a knockout basis, said a statement here on Monday.
A cash prize of Rs. 50,000 will be awarded apart from 1st runners, 2nd and 3rd runner-up trophies, individual medals including merit and participation certificates.
The last date for participation entries is December 23.
