New Delhi, Dec 5 (IANS) The ED on Tuesday said it has attached properties worth Rs 20 crore, including those of NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, in its ongoing probe in a money laundering case related to the new Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi.
After attachment of properties worth Rs 20.41 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the total worth of the properties attached in the case is Rs 178 crore, an Enforcement Directorate (ED) official said.
The ED arrested Bhujbal on March 14, 2016, for his alleged involvement in corruption and money laundering cases.
The ED has been investigating the routing of the money received as kickbacks in exchange for the award of government construction projects to select contractors through companies owned by the politician's family.
The companies are owned by Bhujbal's son Pankaj and nephew Sameer, already arrested in the case.
Bhujbal was a Minister in the previous state government.
The agency had earlier attached two properties belonging to the Bhujbal family under the PMLA.
