Constable beaten to death in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Dec 5 (IANS) A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable was beaten to death in Jharkhand's Bokaro district on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, R.K. Prasad, a CISF Head Constable posted in Dhori area of Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) of Bokaro district, was on night duty on Monday.

Some 10 to 15 people pounced on him and thrashed him brutally on early Tuesday.

Police suspect that unidentified people might have come to steal diesel and batteries from the parked vehicles, which might have protested to by Prasad leading to his thrashing.

Six vehicles were parked in the area and battery of three vehicles were missing after the incident.

The constable's body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
