UAE embassy in Delhi celebrates 46th National Day

New Delhi,A Dec 5 (IANS) The United Arab Emirates embassy celebrated the country's 46th National Day at an event here during which Ambassador AAhmed Al Banna highlighted preparations to celebrate 2018 as the 'Year of Zayed' to honour the founding father of the UAE in the centenary year of his birth.

Indian Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was the Chief Guest, and conveyed the warm greetings of President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UAE, a press release from the Embassy said on Monday.

Naqvi remarked that India's relations with the UAE have multiple facets spread over different fields. Banna spoke about the themes that are at the core of the country's national strategy from year to year.

Prominent figures from different walks of life, includingA members of the diplomatic corps in New Delhi, academics, members of the media, businessmen and Indian government officials attended the ceremony.

The release also said that the UAE's foreign policy witnessed dynamic and tangible activity on quite a few levels in the Gulf, in the Arab world and internationally, by way of an active and dynamic foreign policy in dealing with various global affairs. These efforts have contributed to strengthening the country's standing and strengthened ties with friendly countries in the Gulf region, in the Arab region and around the world.
