In India, you’re not alone: Sushma on Italian accident victim

New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS) After an Italian national was reportedly injured in an accident on the Yamuna Expressway near here, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Saturday that the victim is not alone since he is in India.

"He is not alone. He is in India. I have spoken to Kailash hospital. They will take care," Sushma Swaraj tweeted soon after her arrival here from Russia where she had gone to attend a multilateral meeting.

She said this in response to a tweet that said: "Italian national Mr Giovanni Farris is critically injured in an accident at Yamuna Expressway, as his car collided with another SUV. He is admitted to Kailash Hospital Greater Noida. He is alone in India and needs help."

Following Sushma Swaraj's assurance, the Italian Embassy said that it was "profoundly grateful" to the Minister.

"Spoken to the patient, he is fine and is treated by professional doctors," the Embassy tweeted.
